The Warrior Lodge at Jefferson Regional
We took a sludge hammer to the walls of the old School of Nursing on the Jefferson
Regional campus to transform it into Warrior Lodge. It is a no-cost oasis for patients
and caregivers who are dealing with cancer and need comfortable, temporary
housing. It eliminates the burden of traveling long distances and finding a place to
stay during treatment. Fighting cancer includes more than medicine. Watch the
video to your right to learn more.
Our Warrior Lodge
Donna Terrell Lambert, an award winning news anchor/storyteller for
FOX16 News in Little Rock, Arkansas, believes no one should miss out
on life-saving cancer treatments because they live too far from the
facility providing care. Unfortunately, this is a heartbreaking reality
for many people, especially those living in south Arkansas and
Arkansas’ Delta region. With the creation of Donna Terrell’s Warrior
Lodge at Jefferson Regional in Pine Bluff, cancer patients who travel a
long distance, will have access to Jefferson County’s first ever no-cost
accommodations for cancer patients receiving treatment at Jones-
Dunklin Cancer Center. Her nonprofit organization, Donna Terrell’s
Yoga Warriors Fighting Colon Cancer and Jefferson Regional Medical
Center are partners. They have each launched their own capital
campaigns to raise funds to build the Warrior Lodge. To help Donna
raise her share of the funds to complete and operate the Warrior
Lodge please visit www.yogawarriors.org and make your donation
electronically or by check today!
Our Why
The Warrior Lodge is a dream, born out of tragedy. Donna’s daughter Queah, (pronounced Quaya) died from colon cancer in March of 2011. During her cancer battle she received help from a program that offered no-cost housing to cancer survivors and caregivers. Donna experience the accommodations first hand as she was her daughter’s caregiver during the last few years of her life. Having a place to stay during Queah’s treatments eased some of the worry and financial strain as they tried to navigate through a difficult medical crisis. Since then, through Donna’s efforts, her daughter’s memory lives on and Donna truly believes cancer patients, their families and loved ones will benefit by the comfort they will find inside the Warrior Lodge.
